Professors of the University of East Sarajevo are on the list of 2% of scientists in the world with the greatest impact of citations

One of the world’s largest publishers of scientific literature, Elsevier BV, has published a list of 2% of scientists in the world with the greatest impact of citations in their careers. On the list of scientists who are among the 2% of the best in the world in terms of the impact of citations during 2020, there are two professors from the University of East Sarajevo: Prof. Mirjana Maksimović from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering East Sarajevo and Prof. Zeljko Stevic from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering Doboj. They are no other professors from the universities of Republic of Srpska on this prestigious list.

A total of 6 researchers from Bosnia and Herzegovina are on the list of 2% of scientists in the world with the highest impact of citations.

In the article “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” published in PLoS Biology, signed by professors John PA Ioannidis, Kevin W Boyack and Jeroen Baas from Stanford University in California (USA), a list of 2% of scientists has been created based on the analysis of data available in the SCOPUS database.

The list, which includes more than 100,000 scientists, includes standardized information on citations, h-index, hm-index, adapted co-authorship, citations of scientific papers in various positions of authors in the analyzed work and the overall indicator of citation impact. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 scientific branches.
