At the second project meeting of the ERASMUS-EDU research project RESIZE (Reshaping Correctional Competencies through RESCALED Innovation: for current and future workforce adaptation based on profiles of competencies, recognition of prior learning, micro-credentialing and certification, following correctional systemic changes in Europe – ERASMUS-EDU-2024-PI-ALL-INNO-BLUEPRINT Project No. 101187391), recently held in Ljubljana, members of the Project Team of the University of East Sarajevo participated – Prof. Dr. Dimitrije Ćeranić, Coordinator, and Jovana Amović, team member. During the meeting, the project goals and tasks to be undertaken by the partners in the upcoming period were further specified.
The project coordinator is a research organization from Romania, and the project involves 25 partner organizations from fifteen European countries. The project will run from 2025 to 2029. The Project Team of the University of East Sarajevo consists of Prof. Dr. Dimitrije Ćeranić, Coordinator; Prof. Dr. Goran Marković; Prof. Dr. Svjetlana Ivanović; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sanja Golijanin; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đorđe Marilović; Senior Teaching Assistant Ljubana Sladić, MA; Jovana Amović; and Todor Obradović. Upon the Coordinator’s invitation, several additional faculty members are expected to join the project soon. This project continues activities related to the previously approved ERASMUS-EDU research project PICTURES (Pedagogical Inclusive Education and Training System to UpSkill Cross-Sector Practitioners Working with Minors and Emerging Adults in Correctional Systems – ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PI-ALL-INNO Project No. 101140185), which will run until February 2027.
Both projects are implemented with the consent of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Srpska, for which we express our gratitude to Ministers Selak and Bukejlović, who approved the cooperation. In connection with the projects, excellent cooperation has been established with correctional institutions in East Sarajevo and Bijeljina; police administrations in Bijeljina and East Sarajevo; social work centers in Pale, Bijeljina, East Ilidža, East Novo Sarajevo, and Sokolac; district and basic courts in East Sarajevo and Bijeljina; district public prosecutor’s offices in Bijeljina and East Sarajevo; the Institute of Forensic Psychiatry in Sokolac; the Mental Health Center of the Bijeljina Health Center; the Special Hospital for Psychiatry in Sokolac; the Deputy Ombudsman for Children of the Republic of Srpska; the City Administration of Bijeljina; the Sladić Law Office from Bijeljina; the City Organization of the Red Cross Bijeljina; the Roma Integrative Inclusion Center “Otaharin” from Bijeljina; the “Lara” Foundation from Bijeljina; as well as the academic community. Faculty members, associates, and students of the Faculties of Law, Philosophy, and Education of our University actively participate in the project. We also expect to establish cooperation soon with the Correctional Institution in Trebinje, as well as with several additional law offices and non-governmental and humanitarian organizations from East Sarajevo and Bijeljina.
We would like to thank all project collaborators for the successful cooperation, which will intensify in the coming months. A Center for Professional Guidance and Development is expected to be established soon under the PICTURES Project, and teaching materials will be developed under the RESIZE Project.
