According to the latest SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) report for the year 2023, the University of East Sarajevo took first place this year again when it comes to universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For the first time, the University of East Sarajevo was included in this prestigious list in 2020.
SIR is an international ranking system that assesses the research output and impact of universities and research institutions around the world. Institutions are ranked using a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research results (50%), innovation results (30%) and social impact (20%) measured by their visibility on the Internet. The best quartile is obtained by the institution in its country by comparing the quartiles based on the value of the overall indicator, research factor, innovation and social factor. In the overall ranking, the University of East Sarajevo is included in the best, first quartile (Q1).
This position of the University is the result of the hard work and dedication of the academic staff and students of the University Members, who continuously push the boundaries of research and innovation. The University remains committed to excellence in education, research and innovation.
First on the list is Harvard University, followed by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Harvard Medical School and Zhejiang University.
