On the occasion of the Faculty of Law Day, the Faculty of Law of the University of East Sarajevo hosted the international scientific conference “Law: Cause or Consequence” on October 25, 2025, in Pale.
The conference brought together 240 authors and co-authors from 36 countries across five continents, who presented 179 scientific papers in several languages, including Serbian, Russian, English, Italian, and French.
According to the organizers, this was the largest legal science conference held in Europe this year, based on the number of participants, submitted papers, and the significance of the institutions involved.
The event was co-organized by the International Union of Lawyers (Moscow), the European Public Law Organization (Athens), and the Institute of Comparative Law (Belgrade).
Prof. Dr. Dimitrije Ćeranić, Vice-Dean for Scientific Research at the Faculty, highlighted that the conference provided an opportunity to discuss the key challenges of modern legal systems and to propose solutions that can contribute to society’s development.
“We have gathered distinguished experts from around the world to address the most important issues of contemporary law. The development of law is the foundation of every society’s progress,” said Prof. Ćeranić.
He added that the Faculty of Law is dedicated to research with practical value for institutions and citizens, emphasizing that dialogue, research, and cooperation are essential for strengthening the legal system and restoring trust in the rule of law.
