A delegation of the University of East Sarajevo paid an official visit to the Russian Federation, where it participated, on 27 November, in the meeting of the Joint Working Group for the Development of Cooperation between Saint Petersburg and the Republic of Srpska.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of the Government of the Republic of Srpska and representatives of two public universities, as well as representatives of the City of Saint Petersburg. Discussions focused on bilateral cooperation in various fields, including medicine and healthcare, tourism, humanities, arts and culture, cooperation in education and youth policy, collaboration with civil society organizations, cooperation in physical education and sports, as well as in the social sector, industrial development, and trade.
Within the framework of the education agenda, representatives of the University of East Sarajevo presented the University’s capacities and proposed areas of cooperation across various fields in which higher education institutions and economic entities may collaborate.
The delegation of the University of East Sarajevo consisted of the President of the University’s Governing Board, Prof. M.Sc. Sandra Ivanović; the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Artistic Work, Prof. Dr. Jelena Krunić; and the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr. Marko Gutalj.
In addition to participating in the work of the Joint Working Group, on Friday, 28 November, at Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg, the delegation of the Republic of Srpska attended the ceremonial opening of the photo exhibition “Welcome to the Republic of Srpska!”, dedicated to the natural beauty and tourism potential of the Republic of Srpska.
The exhibition is open to visitors until 8 December 2025 and is located in the “clean zone” with free access for all passengers who have passed passport control and the transit security area.
A reciprocal exhibition dedicated to the city on the Neva River will be held at Banja Luka Airport in the spring of 2026, as part of the Days of Saint Petersburg in the Republic of Srpska.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg and the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in the Russian Federation.
The delegation of the University of East Sarajevo expressed special gratitude to the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in the Russian Federation for its outstanding cooperation and selfless diplomatic and institutional support.
