The 16th International Scientific Symposium “Agrosym 2025”, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of East Sarajevo, was officially opened today on Jahorina. The event will feature the presentation of around 170 scientific papers across seven thematic sections.

Prof. Dr. Jelena Krunić, Vice-Rector for Scientific, Research and Artistic Work at the University of East Sarajevo, emphasized that Agrosym has, for sixteen years, represented a place where knowledge and experience, science and practice, local and global perspectives come together.

Prof. Dr. Vesna Milić, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, highlighted that this year’s symposium focuses on the most current topics in agriculture, including plant protection, soil preservation, and the growing application of digital and precision agriculture.

The symposium, held in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, brings together scientists and experts from more than 80 countries. In total, about 600 scientific and professional papers have been submitted in the fields of agriculture, forestry, food production, ecology, and environmental protection.

Agrosym 2025 will take place until October 5 in the hotels “Vučko” and “Termag” on Jahorina. The program also includes musical performances by the Academy of Music of the University of East Sarajevo and cultural events for symposium participants.
