Students of the Synology Department at the opening of the first classroom for studying the Chinese language in elementary schools

Students of the Department of Synology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of East Sarajevo participated at the ceremony of the Chinese language introduction into the schools of Republic of Srpska.

The students of the Department successfully preformed the dance from China “Thousand hands of the goddess Guanjin” and desired everyone happy start of the project in the fluent Chinese.

The project, initiated by the Department of Synology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of East Sarajevo and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, will be conducted in a total of five schools in Republic of Srpska.

On January 27, on the day of school celebration, St. Sava Elementary School in East New Sarajevo announced the introduction of the Chinese language as elective subject in the school.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Chen Bo who congratulated the school, but also the University of East Sarajevo, as the leader in the study of the Chinese language and China in Republic of Srpska.

The ceremony was attended by Republika Srpska Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, Acting Rector of the University of East Sarajevo, professor Stevo Pasalic, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Culture, Arts and Sports professor Sandra Ivanović, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, professor Draga Mastilović, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, professor Ranko Antunović and numerous distinguished guests from the political and cultural life of Srpska.
